Bisley’s Reasons for Joining Guangdong: Join them if you can’t beat them

On March 1, Beijing time, ( the 41st round of last night’s CBA League matches, Guangdong team played against Tongxi team at home. During the suspension period of the men’s basketball World Preliminary Championship window, Guangdong team replaced two foreign aid players, Bisley and Brooks. Brooks was unable to play because the formalities had not been completed. Bisley cut 20 points and 10 rebounds in his first show. In a recent interview, he also revealed the reasons for joining Guangdong team.

Many teams chased Bisley, but he eventually chose Guangdong. Speaking about the reasons for joining Guangdong, Bisley said: “My goal is to play, but my main goal is to win the championship, bring a champion to Guangdong, fight for the future. Guangdong is a better city and a more famous team. There are players I can learn from them and they can help me. That’s a better chance.

Bisley proved his strength when he played in Shanghai and Shandong. He won the CBA All-Star MVP twice. In the 2015-16 season, he also won the regular season MVP with 31.9 points, 13.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2 steals.

When he played for Shanghai and Shandong, Bisley played against Guangdong many times. He only helped Shandong win Guangdong once in the season of 2015-16. All the other competitions were lost. Recalling the situation when he played against Guangdong, Bisley said, “It’s very annoying. He played with them about five or six times, but it seems that he didn’t win one. I’m very frustrated. If I can’t fight, join them. Ha-ha. As far as I’m concerned, Zhu Fangyu is one of the best strikers. We talked a lot about how he decided the direction of the match. I think he’s a great player and a very good person.

Speaking about the meaning of championship, Beasley said: “Championship means you are the best, it means all the efforts you put in, when you want to go to the gym, all the sacrifices you make when you feel tired. It means that your jump shot, dribble and sprint are all worthwhile and rewarded. Over the years, I haven’t changed much physically, but my mind is totally different. I look back at myself and think it’s silly. Hahaha, being young is the process of looking for myself. I’m still alive after doing some wrong things. But now I’m grateful that these things have made me who I am today. So my 10-year challenge is embarrassing, but it’s worth remembering at the same time.
